This gift represents a cataract operation to restore a person's sight and help them retain their independence. A cataract operation can cost as little as £24 for an adult, whereas an operation for a child can cost more, depending on the care needs of the child. Cataract is the world’s leading cause of blindness. It can have a devastating impact on a person’s ability to work and even carry out everyday tasks. Yet a quick and straightforward operation can make all the difference.

This item is representative of an essential surgical procedure on board our Flying Eye Hospital. By choosing to make a donation at this value you will be supporting our vital sight saving work wherever it is needed the most.

How does it work?

  • Send a gift as an eCard

    1. Choose an item and click the Give as a Gift button on the item page.
    2. Select "Send an eCard", then choose the image you'd like to be included in the email and fill in the recipient's details and gift message.
    3. Set when you'd like the email to be sent (or leave the selection as "now" to send immediately), and then click Add to Cart and checkout as normal.

  • Print a gift yourself

    1. Choose an item and click the Give as a Gift button on the item page.
    2. Select "Print it yourself", click Add to Cart and checkout as normal.
    3. You will be sent an email containing a link to download an image. Then simply print, fill in your message and deliver it to your loved one yourself.
